Holoholokai Beach Park

Holoholokai
Beach Park is located adjacent to the Fairmont Orchid Mauna Lani
Hotel in Kohala. This scenic beach is made up of small white
rocks on a sandy beach. Dried lava rocks surround the shore
and form small tide pools nearby. The rocky
shoreline
can make it difficult to enter the water, but on a calm day, you can
find some decent snorkeling here. The beach is beautiful and
never crowded. It is a nice, quiet, secluded setting with a
beautiful view. A path across the parking lot from the beach
leads to the Puako Petroglyphs.
Restrooms and picnic tables are onsite. Pets and off-road vehicles
are not allowed and camping is prohibited.
Directions:
Take Highway 19 north from Kona. Turn left into
the resort area between Mile Markers #74 and 73. Turn right at the
first major intersection. At the "Y" in the road, bear left. Take
the next right and follow the road to the end where beach parking is
located.
